Description
All excursions include a hotel room (single or double occupancy depending on your booking) the night prior to departure, all ferry passages, all gear as needed, pre-trip planning assistance, pre-departure safety briefing, gear check and weigh-in, and an experienced guide to lead the party.
This excursion is for advanced hikers and is amenable to bird watching.
Itinerary:
- hotel in Copper Harbor; pre-departure gear and safety review
- Isle Royal Queen IV to Rock Harbor-overnight in Rock Harbor; add optional Scoville Point Trail (4.7 miles)
- hop via Voyageur II to Windigo-evening moose watching in Washington Creek (0.5 miles)
- hike the Minong Ridge Trail to North Desor Campground (13 miles)
- hike the Minong Ridge Trail to Little Todd Harbor Campground (6 miles)
- hike the Minong Ridge Trail to Todd Harbor Campground (7 miles)
- hike the Minong Ridge Trail to McCargoe Cove Campground (7 miles)
- hike East Chickenbone Cutoff, to Greenstone, to Daisy Farm Trail to Daisy Farm Campground (8.2 miles)
- hike the Rock Harbor Trail to 3-Mile Campground (4.2 miles)
- hike the Rock Harbor Trail to Rock Harbor (3 miles)
- return to Copper Harbor via the Isle Royale Queen IV
